NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) – The snow, sleet, and sleet have pulled out of Middle Tennessee and Kentucky, but the icy road conditions remain. Officials are again urging people to stay at home.
Numerous accidents were reported on Monday as travel conditions worsened during the day. At night the snow has stopped, but temperatures won’t reach the 20s until Tuesday, so roads won’t have a chance to thaw.
Neighborhood streets in Nashville remain covered in snow and ice and pose a real risk to travel. Main roads and highways are passable, but there is still snow and ice on them. If travel is absolutely necessary, drive slowly and very carefully. Stay at home if possible. pic.twitter.com/joMhr4kT6H

Every county in Middle Tennessee reports icy roads.
Reporter Aaron Cantrell and photojournalist Quan McWil were able to assist a Nashville driver who got stuck Tuesday morning.
Nashville resident Eric Goodman was driving to the store when he got stuck near Donelson Pike. Fortunately myself and a photojournalist @BuienRadarNL was there to push his car out of the snow. Listen to Eric and stay in the house! @ NC5 pic.twitter.com/IVK83nXKc3

To make matters worse, temperatures are not expected to rise above freezing until late this week. Another winter storm appears to be setting in late Wednesday through Thursday, bringing more ice and snow.
Here is an overview of the road conditions in the area as of Tuesday morning:
Road conditions have not improved, still covered with ice. Stadsstraat operates 12-hour shifts and plows and salts of main roads. No accidents reported so far from midnight to 6:30 am. Twelve accidents were reported on Monday. Please stay off the road unless it is an emergency. pic.twitter.com/g1lm0bw1fc

There are still icy roads or patches of ice / snow. The dangers of area travel continue.
Crews have plowed and salted, but extreme temperatures have kept conditions slippery in many locations. Stay indoors if possible, be extremely careful when you need to get out.
Go slow, no tailgate.
