The Yankees have won the battle in New York for veteran enlightenment officer Justin Wilson.
The lefties agreed to a deal with the Yankees on Monday, The Post’s Joel Sherman confirmed, after also receiving interest from the Mets.
The terms of the deal, which is pending a physical deal, were not immediately clear.
Wilson, 33, pitched for the Mets for the past two seasons and spent the 2015 season in The Bronx.
Wilson pitched to a 2.91 ERA in 58² / ₃ innings during his two seasons with the Mets. In what has been a fairly quiet off-season for the Yankees, Wilson joins Darren O’Day as additions to the Yankees bullpen. The Yankees traded Adam Ottavino and most of his $ 9 million contract to the Red Sox to release dollars.
