Prince Harry’s ‘dirty’ bare feet spark calls for royal to ‘buy some shoes and put them away’

Prince Harry’s ‘dirty’ bare feet have urged the royal family to ‘buy some shoes and put them away’ following the announcement of baby number two with wife Meghan Sunday.

A spokesperson for the couple said in a statement: ‘We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child. ‘

Harry, 36, and Meghan, 39, confirmed the good news with a black and white photo of themselves. The couple sits by a tree with Harry’s hand under Meghan’s head as she lies on his lap with her hand on her bump.

But for many fans, the sight of the prince’s bare feet turned out to be too much.

Twitter user @KellyannBabes wrote: “Happy birthday Harry and Meghan … but seriously there is a need for Harry’s bare feet.”

@ Matriarch4 added: ‘Someone has to buy Harry shoes. Ewwww, feet. ‘

@Mama_Cougar said, ‘OK OK I’ll be the one to say it. If I never see Prince Harry’s bare feet again, it’s too soon. ‘

The baby will be eighth in line to the British throne.

A Buckingham Palace spokesman said: “Her Majesty, Duke of Edinburgh, Prince of Wales and the whole family are delighted and wish them the best.”

The couple, who currently live in California, made the news on the 37th birthday of Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, who announced she was pregnant with him on Valentine’s Day in 1984.

But for some, the photo shared to celebrate their pregnancy – taken by the couple’s old friend Misan Harriman – was also a sign of disrespect.

Twitter user @MirandaUganda said: “In many countries it is very offensive to show the soles of your feet.”

@ZoeThinks said, ‘Wonder why we should look at his dirty feet?’

She added, “In many Arab, Muslim, Hindu, and Buddhist countries, showing the soles of your feet is a sign of disrespect.”

Others said “everything else is perfect” – except Harry’s bare feet.

@thedyingswann said: ‘My only complaint about that photo is that Harry is barefoot – I hate seeing feet with burning passion. Everything else is perfect! ‘

“I’m happy for them, but Harry please put his feet away,” added user @ g0ldxnharry.

Harry and Meghan shocked the world last year when they stepped down from senior royals and announced they would be moving to North America with baby Archie, who turns two in May.

The couple squatted in a sprawling nine-bedroom mansion in Montecito, which they bought for $ 14.65 million last June.

Their baby announcement came just days after Harry’s cousin, Princess Eugenie, welcomed a baby boy on February 9.

The sex of the couple’s second baby, as well as the due date, remain unclear.

Baby Sussex will be the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh’s 10th or 11th great-grandchild, depending on whether he or she arrives before or after Zara Tindall’s baby, also expected in 2021.

Meghan recycled a Carolina Herrera dress she made for the birth announcement photo during her first pregnancy.

Harriman, the Nigerian-born British photographer who took the photo, wrote on Twitter: ‘Meg, I was there at your wedding to see how this love story began, and my friend, I am honored to capture it.

“Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on this joyful news!”

It is unclear where the photo was taken, but Harriman said he took it remotely via an iPad.

Speaking to British Vogue following the announcement of the baby, Harriman said: “To be asked to help share this absolute joy after such an unimaginable loss and heartbreak is a sign of true friendship.

Meg reminded me that if I hadn’t introduced her to a mutual friend, she wouldn’t have met Harry.

“I am grateful for the small part I played.”

Regarding how he captured the image, he said: “With the tree of life behind them and the garden representing fertility, life and progress, they didn’t need any direction, because they waltzed through life together and always have been. as absolute soulmates. ‘

Commenting on the image, Twitter user @KayakSeaFishing said, “Harry has very ugly feet. He’s like a hobbit! ‘

@delabole added: ‘Don’t mind the baby bump .. I just don’t want to see Harry’s bare feet.’

And while Twitter user @ Positivelady92 called it a ‘great photo’ they added, ‘I think Harry should wash his feet’

@ Debied123 agreed, adding, ‘Who else has zoomed in on the state of Harry’s feet?’

@TaliaBM simply said, ‘Files’ Prince Harry’s feet ‘under things I never wanted to see.’

The Duke said in 2019 that he would only have two children for the sake of the planet a year after he married Markle at Windsor Castle in May 2018.

In early 2020, Meghan and Harry announced that they would quit their royal duties and move to North America. They recently bought a home in Santa Barbara, California.

Sixth in line Harry and ex-actress Meghan have been busy securing funding for their new life, signing a lucrative deal with streaming giant Netflix, which is said to be worth over £ 150 million, and more a multi-million pound podcast deal with Spotify.

Meghan also invested in a brand of vegan coffee late last year – her first investment since coming to the US – which Oprah Winfrey promoted to her 19.2 million Instagram followers in December.

They’ve also worked on their Archewell charity, but sparked controversy when Harry was accused of political interference after urging people in the US to reject ‘hate speech’ and vote in the presidential election.

The happy news comes on the 37th anniversary of when Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, announced she was pregnant with him on Valentine’s Day in 1984.

In November, Meghan revealed that she had miscarried in July 2020, personally reporting the traumatic experience in hopes of helping others.

Earlier this month, the author of Meghan’s autobiography, Omid Scobie, claimed that the Duchess had no intention of joining Harry on his first trip back to the UK this summer because she doesn’t want to be away from Archie.

Scobie added that Meghan would likely virtually catch up with the family, explaining, “Archie loves having Zoom conversations with the family and the Queen enjoys it during the lockdown.”

55-year-old photographer Harriman is known for his photographs of celebrities and activists. His work documenting the Black Lives Matter protests this summer caught the attention of Edward Enniful, editor of British Vogue, who commissioned him to become the first black man to make a Vogue cover in his 104-year history. .

His images were on the cover of the prestigious September issue.

It is also unclear how Harriman was introduced to the Duke and Duchess, but his caption indicated that he has known them for a long time.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s new baby comes eighth in line to the throne

The first seven places remain unchanged: the Prince of Wales, the Duke of Cambridge, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, Harry and Archie Mountbatten-Windsor.

Harry kept his place in the line of succession despite stopping the royal life and dropping his HRH style.

When Harry and Meghan’s new addition arrives, the Duke of York, who was born second in line in 1960, moves up to ninth place.

Andrew retired from royal duties in 2019 after his controversial Newsnight interview about his friendship with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

The baby boy or girl will come behind the older brother Archie in the line of succession.

Andrew’s eldest daughter, Princess Beatrice, moves up to 10th place.

His youngest, Princess Eugenie, will drop out of the top 10 and come 11th in line, and her newborn son will move up to 12th place.

Baby Sussex will be either the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh’s 10th or 11th great-grandchild, depending on whether he or she is born before or after Zara Tindall’s baby.

Philip’s monarch and great-grandchildren so far are: Savannah and Isla Phillips; George, Charlotte and Louis; Mia and Lena Tindall; Archie and Princess Eugenie’s little son.

The new baby has no right to be a HRH, nor to be a prince or princess because of rules set by George V more than 100 years ago.

He or she may be a Gentleman or a Lady, but, in accordance with the wishes of Harry and Meghan, will be a simple Master, like Archie, or Miss (given name) Mountbatten-Windsor instead.

The firstborn son of a duke, Archie could have become Earl of Dumbarton – one of Harry’s junior titles – or Lord Archie Mountbatten-Windsor.

But the Duke and Duchess broke from royal convention by making a personal decision not to use a title, presumably inspired by Harry’s desire to be a normal child, rather than a prince, when he grew up.

However, the baby, like Archie, will have the right to be a HRH and a prince or princess when the Prince of Wales takes the throne – although it is considered unlikely that Harry and Meghan will opt for such a change.

The new baby does not need the monarch’s permission to get married.

For hundreds of years, the Royal Marriages Act 1772 meant that descendants of George II had to seek the consent of the sovereign before getting married or their marriage was considered invalid.

But this Act was repealed by the Crown Succession Act.

It limited consent to only the first six people in the line of succession, so since the new baby is eighth in line, they don’t currently need to seek permission from a monarch to get married.

They may need to do this in the future, when the Duke of Cambridge eventually becomes king and there are no further additions for them in the line of succession.

King George III, the grandson of George II, had ordered the now-repealed law of 1772 after his younger brother, the Duke of Cumberland, secretly married Lady Anne Horton, who was considered a highly infamous widow of a commoner.
