Winter weather is seriously delaying travel to the Houston airport

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – Hundreds of flight departures were canceled or delayed at Houston airports on Sunday due to bitter cold winds and snow in other areas.

In the video above, a few shots show de-icer on the planes taking off and loading at the airport. The winter storm hits Dallas / Fort Worth International Airport, one of the nation’s busiest airports, causing major travel disruptions across the country.

Both George Bush Intercontinental Airport and William P. Hobby Airport are experiencing delays.

Due to weather conditions at DFW Airport, Houston airports experience departure delays averaging two hours and 59 minutes.

Departure delays to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport also experience delays averaging 58 minutes.

As for taxi delays at Houston airports, the delay currently averages about 15 minutes or less.
