Images of Tianwen-1 entering Mars orbit will be released

The China National Space Administration on Friday revealed images of China’s first Mars probe, Tianwen-1, entering Red Planet’s orbit.

The monitor cameras recorded the entire process, including crucial moments such as when the Mars emerged, when the probe crossed from day to night, and the mild tremors after ignition.

Clearly visible were the solar wing, the directional antenna, and the atmosphere and surface of Mars.

The probe successfully entered the orbit of the Red Planet on Wednesday after a crucial braking system was activated to slow the spacecraft’s speed, allowing it to be caught by Martian gravity.

Tianwen-1 was launched by a Long March-5 heavy launch vehicle on July 23 last year.
