The number of COVID-19 infections reported in the United States continues to decline, with the country seeing the lowest number of cases per week since October last year.

According to the report, there were just over 650,000 new infections in the seven days to February 13 The COVID tracking project. That total represents a 22.3 percent decrease from the number reported last weekk.

Hospital admissions have also died by 15.7 percent from last week, while the number of deaths has dropped by 13.8 percent in the past seven days.

However, officials warn that the country is not yet unclear. The numbers currently reported are still much higher than during the spring and summer rises of 2020.

On Saturday, the United States reported 90,199 new COVID-19 cases and 2,303 additional deaths.

More than 27.5 million Americans have tested positive for the virus and 483,926 have now died.

More than 137,000 of those deaths have occurred in the 44 days since January 1.

Meanwhile, the number of COVID-19 vaccinations administered in the United States continues to increase slightly every day.

On Friday, 1.66 million Americans received a dose of the Pfizer or Moderna shot, slightly more than the 1.6 million who received a shot the day before.

By comparison, on January 13, exactly a month ago, only 710,000 Americans received an injection of the COVID-19 vaccine.

On Saturday, officials stated that just over 37.1 million Americans have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

That may sound like a huge number, but it represents only 11 percent of the population.

At the current rate, it will take until next November to partially vaccinate 90 percent of Americans, according to the New York Times.
