JACKSON, MI – Rite Aid pharmacy locations in Jackson County now offer COVID-19 vaccinations to eligible residents, according to a social media post from the Jackson County Health Department.
On Friday, February 12, Jackson Rite Aid pharmacy locations began administering vaccinations to people in current eligible groups, including caregivers, first responders, essential workers, and people 65 and older.
Stocks remain limited as doses of COVID-19 vaccines administered through pharmacies are assigned by state and local jurisdictions.
Rite Aid relies on qualifications from state and local jurisdictions to determine vaccine eligibility. Jackson County residents can click here to find the form required to book an appointment through Rite Aid. All responses to the form must be correct, otherwise the appointment may be canceled.
As of Feb. 11, 27,075 doses have been administered to county residents by the Jackson County Health Department, Henry Ford Allegiance Health, pharmacies and other providers, according to health department spokesman Rashmi Travis. The health department administered an estimated 5,000 doses, Travis said.
Currently, the health department organizes drive-thru vaccine clinics in the Jackson County Department of Transportation garage at 2400 Elm Road.
Updates on vaccine planning are available on the Health Department’s COVID-19 vaccine information line at 517-817-4469.
