Supergirl’s Melissa Benoist signs blanket deal with Warner Bros. TV and starts her own production company
Melissa Benoist will take a more active role in finding new projects once her time on Supergirl ends after signing a new blanket deal and moving to start a production company.
The 32-year-old actress has signed an exclusive multi-year deal with Warner Bros. Television, Variety reported Friday.
Once her Supergirl series ends after the upcoming sixth season, Benoist will turn her attention to her new company, Three Things Productions.

Through her company, which she named after Mary Oliver’s poem Three Things To Remember, Benoist will develop and produce original television programs.
The company said in a statement that its mission is to “ find meaningful projects that are unashamed, courageous and authentic, with the goal of discovering stories that lead with impact. ”
The company will make TV shows for WarnerMedia’s flagship streaming service HBO Max, as well as other cable channels or broadcast stations.
The new deal marks Benoist’s first deal as a producer with a major studio.

Sahar Kashi will join the actress as vice president of development at her production company, who previously worked as a creative executive on Apple TV +’s Home Before Dark, as well as Netflix’s dark high school drama 13 Reasons Why.
Before moving to Apple, she worked at Netflix and Fox.

Benoist, who previously appeared on Glee and the miniseries Waco, welcomed her first child, son Huxley, in September 2020, along with husband Chris Wood.
The couple became engaged in February 2019 and married in September of that year.
