Warzone player finds unreleased Modern Warfare pistol in game • Eurogamer.net

A Call of Duty: Warzone player was surprised this week when he found an unreleased Modern Warfare pistol and played with it.

Redditor RestlessGoats uploaded a clip below showing the Sykov gun in Warzone.

I was able to access the new unreleased Sykov blueprint using weapon drops in r / CODWarzone’s Plunder

RestlessGoats said they obtained the unreleased Sykov blueprint using the weapon drop field upgrade in Plunder mode. The Sykov is currently not officially in Warzone. It is not a weapon that can be unlocked for use in an armor, and under normal circumstances it is not part of the current loot table.

However, the Sykov is currently available for use in Modern Warfare via Survival mode (the mode that was, controversially, a timed PlayStation exclusive at the launch of Infinity Ward’s shooter).

Its availability in Survival mode, but not Modern Warfare’s multiplayer, has been known for a while – and players have leveled it up in anticipation of its wider release. But this is the first time we’ve seen it pop up in Warzone.

This blueprint that RestlessGoats found is fully automatic, which suggests that an automatic fire mode will be available for the gun when properly launched.

In Survival mode, the Sykov can be customized to have 80 rounds, become fully automatic, and dual-use via the Akimbo perk, which is definitely a scary thought for Warzone – if these attachments are transferred in the same way (let’s not forget the horror of the double Diamattis in December).

The Sykov isn’t the only new gun players expecting to hit Warzone one day. The CX-9 submachine gun is another weapon available in Modern Warfare survival mode, but has not been released in multiplayer so far.

Players thought the appearance of the Sykov and CX-9 in Modern Warfare’s Survival mode meant new weapons would be coming to Modern Warfare’s multiplayer in the near future – despite Activision leaving the game in favor of Black Ops Cold War. Fingers crossed!
