Goodbye to Chivas; Hernán Crespo, new Sao Paulo coach

The Argentinian, Hernán Crespo, became the new coach of Brazil’s Sao Paulo for the next two years this Friday, as reported by the entity’s president, Julio Casares, in a media appearance.

“After a very technical, careful and judicious evaluation, during which we consulted several professionals, We understand that Hernán Crespo fits perfectly with what we think for Sao Paulo. He has a winning story, he was a great player and he is a promising coach. We will have a commander with a winning mentality and the DNA of São PauloCasares said.

Crespo arrives in Morumbi after winning the South American Cup in 2020 with Defense and Justice. The unprecedented trophy was guaranteed with an unbeaten campaign: six wins and three draws. The Argentinian coach faces a new challenge in which he will lead two old acquaintances of the Spanish fans: Juanfran and Dani Alves.

Crespo’s coaching career began in Italy in the lower ranks of Parma in the 2014/15 season and led the Modena professional team in 2015. He then returned to Argentine football to take over Banfield in 2018/19 and to Defense and Justice. (2020/21).
