Writers who have worked with Joss Whedon have begun to speak out about their experience with the “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” co-creator in light of Charisma Carpenter’s allegations earlier this week.
“‘Casually cruel’ is a perfect way to describe Joss,” Firefly writer Jose Molina tweeted Friday night, adding the hashtag #IStandWithCharisma. He thought being mean was funny. Making female writers especially cry during a note-taking session was hysterical. He actually liked to brag about the time he made a writer cry twice in a meeting. “
Molina, who went on to work on shows like “Agent Carter” and “Sleepy Hollow,” is getting two episodes of the short-lived, cult-favorite Whedon series.

Marti Noxon, who served as showrunner on “Buffy” for the last two seasons, expressed support for Carpenter and the other actresses who have spoken out against Whedon.
“I would like to validate what Buffy’s women are saying and support them in telling their story. They deserve to be heard, ”she wrote. I understand where Charisma, Amber [Benson], Michelle [Trachtenberg] and all the women who have spoken out come out. “
The popularity of Whedon’s series – which includes ‘Firefly’, ‘Buffy’ and its spin-off ‘Angel’ – has been pivotal in the careers of a number of writers, and Molina and Noxon’s tweets on Friday mark the first major examples of this. writers formerly associated with Whedon address the issue publicly. Whedon representatives declined to comment on the tweets.

Carpenter earlier this week accused Whedon of “hostile and toxic” behavior on the sets of “Buffy” and spin-off “Angel,” two of Whedon’s most beloved shows. The actress, who starred as Cordelia Chase on both series, also expressed support for “Justice League” star Ray Fisher and revealed that she was one of those who took part in the Warner Bros. investigation into Whedon’s alleged misconduct.
“He was mean and biting, openly disparaging others and often playing favorites, pitting people against each other to compete for his attention and approval,” Carpenter wrote. She accused the creator of making “passive-aggressive threats” and retaliating against her pregnancy while doing the show.
Several former “Buffy” actors, including Benson, Trachtenberg, “Buffy” star Sarah Michelle Gellar, “Dollhouse” star Eliza Dushku and Clare Kramer, have since spoken out in support of Carpenter.
