A Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild almost four years after the game was released for the Nintendo Switch, the player has made a substantial discovery. While Breath of the wilderness doesn’t get any newer, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite players keep playing it sooner The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2, which is reportedly due out later this year. That said, this new discovery isn’t a way to explore the game’s world or test different gameplay mechanics, but it was born from the game’s code.
In addition to digging up a shrine that was never released, YouTuber Waikuteru has excavated a debugging space, which in turn has revealed an interesting insight into the game’s development. To recreate the debugging space in the game, the modder had to merge pre-existing code with several mods, and the result is the video below.
The debugroom, dubbed the “MarioClubTestDungeon,” isn’t the biggest revelation, but it is testament to the game’s following that continues to search for new secrets and content. Unfortunately, it’s not in the right game anymore, which means that you, us, and the average Joe have no way of accessing it.
Unfortunately, this is the most exciting thing going on right now Zelda players, but this should change soon. That is not only Breath of the Wild 2 coming sooner rather than later, but it looks like Nintendo is preparing to bring classics Zelda games to Switch and Switch Lite for the series’ 35th anniversary this year.
At this point, Nintendo has commented on this debugging video and what it reveals in any capacity. If for some reason this changes – and almost certainly won’t – we’ll definitely update the story accordingly.
