FLORIDA, UNITED STATES. – A man who spent the money received to mitigate the effects of Covid-10 by purchasing a Lamborghini for $ 318,000 (about 7,660,620 lempiras) has pleaded guilty to a judge in Florida, United States, in recent hours.
David T. Hines, a 29-year-old businessman, applied for seven loans from the bank Payroll Protection Program (PPP), which was set up to help companies in difficulty during the corona pandemic.

The banking company approved three of the seven loans requested by Hines, for which they paid him $ 3,984,557. With the money, the businessman bought various luxury items, including the vehicle with which he crashed and ran away months later.
Detectives were able to verify that the car was registered in his name and began to investigate.
“As part of his guilty plea, Hines admitted that he was fraudulently seeking millions of dollars in PPP loans by filing with a financial institution on behalf of various companies,” the Florida prosecution said.
In addition, he added that “the guilty documents show that after receiving the PPP funds, Hines did not make the wage payments he claimed he would make in the loan applications. Basically what he did was use the PPP money for personal expenses. ‘
The man will be sentenced on April 14 for the fraud.
