Senator Ted Cruz, R-Texas is performing for controversial actress Gina Carano who was fired from the Disney + series “The Mandalorian” for controversial social media posts.
Carano has been criticized and continues to be scrutinized on social media for a post comparing the current political divide to the events in Nazi Germany.
The 38-year-old actress played Cara Dune on the hit Disney + series and Lucasfilm confirmed in a statement on Wednesday that she is “not currently employed by” the company and there are no plans for “her return” in the future. “
Carano’s deposition resulted in both praise and anger from “Star Wars” fans. Those who were parties to the actress made the hashtag #CancelDisneyPlus on Twitter a trend. But Cruz suggested on Thursday that the streaming service was wrong in letting her go.

Cruz’s tweet got its own attention from critics and supporters.
“She’s amazing! Good for her to speak up! And the censorship continues. Freedom of speech is gone,” says one person tweeted to Cruz
Where have all our freedoms gone? Sad days for us patriots, ”another account replied.
Others felt that Carano’s comments were indefensible and criticized Cruz’s defense.
“My goal in life is never to do anything that will allow Ted Cruz to defend me,” one user criticized
“Probably the Holocaust thing they canceled her for, Ted,” another wrote sarcastically
One person argued, “The problem is not with her character, who has a kick …. The problem is with the actor, who has expressed horrific views that her employer does not want to be associated with.”

A second post from Carano featured a photo of a person wearing cloth masks to cover his face and head with the caption, “Meanwhile in California.” Variety reported that both posts were removed from its Instagram on Wednesday afternoon.
Others were left, however, including one who reportedly read, “Expecting everyone you meet to agree with any belief or opinion you have is f-king wild,” as well as another who said, “Jeff Epstein has not killed. “

Cruz isn’t the only high-profile person to respond to Carano’s controversy.
Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn seemed to approve the online bashing of The Mandalorian actress by liking a tweet that defended him and slapped Carano. The tweet he “liked” on the platform read, “Oh f – k don’t drag @JamesGunn to this unfortunate trending topic,” written by entrepreneur Olga Kay.

Carano’s other defenders pointed to several examples of hypocrisy, from a tweet by her “Mandalorian” co-star Pedro Pascal, comparing Nazi concentration camps to US migrant housing facilities with Disney’s ongoing business ties to China, even as the Beijing government continues. Imprison Uyghur Muslims. concentration camps. The studio even thanked officials from Xinjiang Province, where the camps are located, in the credits of “Mulan.”
