Lottery! Olimpia America and Marathon-Portland Timbers in the Concachampions

The teams Olimpia and Marathón, representing Honduras in the 2021 edition of the Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League, already know their rivals from the round of 16 stage of the competition.

The draw to determine the keys to the game was held in the city of Miami, Florida, and was attended by the virtual coaches of the participating clubs.

Olimpia faces a historic duel against América de México led by Argentinian coach Santiago Solari, formerly of Real Madrid.

The Marathon, for its part, will compete against the Portland Timbers of the United States. This club is coached by Venezuelan Giovanni Savarese and they were MLS champions played in the bubble in Orlando.

The round of 16 starts between April 6 and 8 and the rounds are played between 13 and 15 of the same month. Both catrachos clubs will open the key at home as they are in pot two.

The Albos play their 12th tournament and are the club with the most participation in the maximum competition at Concacaf club level.

Together with Olimpia, Marathón is the second team to be in Honduras, the greens qualifying after winning the Concacaf League playoff against Forge.
