Someone has spent a lot of money to get the stolen game and engine code from CD Projekt Red.

The ‘buy now’ figure quoted was $ 7 million for the whole thing, but it’s not clear how much was actually paid before the auction ended. This is because, according to KELA Research, the bid came from outside the forum where the auction was being held. The purchaser also determined that the data would not be redistributed or sold in the future.
The forum post announcing the opening of the auction said the dump contains source code for The Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077, an upcoming ray tracing version of The Witcher 3, Thronebreaker, as well as the studio’s own RedEngine, which carries all of its games. drives.
Apart from that, buyers would also have access to an assortment of documents obtained as part of the hack, including legal, HR, business and other sensitive files.
In announcing the news of the hack to everyone, CD Projekt Red said it will not give in to their demands and pay the ransom, but chooses to warn its partners who may have been affected and to cooperate with local authorities.
