Fauci says that “just about anyone” could get COVID-19 vaccines in April

NEW YORK – Dr. Anthony Fauci predicts it will be an “open season” for vaccinations in the US in April as supply grows, allowing most people to receive injections to protect against COVID-19.

Fauci, who serves as scientific adviser to President Joe Biden, says vaccinations will accelerate enormously in the coming months. He commends upcoming deliveries of the two approved vaccines, the possible approval of a third and the steps the Biden government is taking to increase the country’s capacity to deliver doses.

He says, “By the time we get there in April,” it will be “open season, which is that virtually anyone and everyone in any category can start vaccinating.”

He warned it will take “several more months” to give injections to adult Americans logistically, but predicted herd immunity could be achieved by the end of the summer.
