Negus George, of Seventh Street, Gooding Trace in Malabar, has been formally charged with the murder of 23-year-old Andrea Bharatt.
Police this morning filed charges against the 24-year-old.

George is expected to appear before an Arima Magistrate through an online connection for some time in the next few hours.
Senior homicide detectives told Guardian Media that it is likely that George will be at Arima police station for the virtual hearing.
Meanwhile, George’s girlfriend, a 37-year-old from Malabar, is expected to be formally charged today for receiving stolen property.

Sources say there is an administrative requirement that must be completed before she can be formally charged.
Andrea Bharatt was kidnapped on January 29 in King Street, Arima, and her body was found from an abyss in the Heights of Aripo six days later on February 4.
