Fans have long praised the 71-year-old Springsteen for his healthy lifestyle.

In his 2016 autobiography ‘Born to Run’, Springsteen said he avoided drugs and did not try alcohol until age 22, in part because he saw how alcohol consumption affected his father.

“He’s in shape by not using drugs. It’s something he doesn’t have to preach about. He’s a living example of what happens when you never use drugs all your life,” said E Street Band guitarist Steven Van Zandt. from Springsteen to Rolling Stone in 2012, talking about Springsteen’s endurance on stage.

“I mean, I’m sure he had a drink a few times in his life, but he was never a drinker either. And he eats well and he’s in the gym. Well, that’s what happens,” Van said. Zandt. “Don’t use drugs. Don’t drink, eat well, go to the gym and you can rock & roll at 62, too.”
