Stocks ended higher on Monday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average posting its first record since January 20 when the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite each hit their third record in a row. The Dow DJIA,
rose around 237 points, or 0.8% to close near 31,385, hitting the previous close of 31,188.38. The S&P 500 SPX,
achieved about 29 points, or 0.7%, to close near 3,916, while the Nasdaq moved up about 131 points, or 0.9%, finishing close to 13,988. Analysts said the earnings, continued rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine and expectations that Congress will approve another major round of aid spending aimed at bolstering the economy helped stocks move into record territory.
