I don’t see many crocodiles in my life. Really, the only times I ever see them are when I’m fishing in the Florida Everglades or vacationing in Panama or Costa Rica. But they strike fear into my heart in a way that an alligator never could.
Crocs will swim up in the middle of a crowd and pick out an easy meal like it’s no problem at all. They will feed animals that come to the water’s edge for a drink with snipe. They are stealth predators, but they are not against working hard for a meal. So if a healthy snack like this shark just falls into a crocodile’s lap, that shark will be eaten 100% with no regrets.
This Australian woman fished according to ‘Cardwell Beach in Far North Queensland’ News Australia. She said she couldn’t get the shark back into the water. It seems her plan was to keep him fluttering around until the shark came back in. But this huge 3 meter crocodile saw the easy meal and the rest was history. Fair warning, she’s using profanity in this video, but she’s Australian so it’s pretty hilarious.
It seems like videos have slowed down a bit for some reason. At first I thought the narrator sounded wasted, but I think they just slowed down the YouTube video to like .9x normal speed. You can hear her say “Look at this monster … holy bastards, I just caught a shark that I couldn’t get back in the water because this guy was coming, and now he’s going to come in and eat it and me myself. Oh my lord, he’s one, two, three … I can see for four meters and he’s still got a tail in the water. I’ve never shaken so much in my life. “
I have to show her respect because she’s gone completely Aussie in this video. She manages to use blasphemy in such a silky smooth way that only Australians can. Their culture is a gigantic masterclass in the use of blasphemy, and I am eternally impressed.
