Amy actually did double duty, as two different versions of the commercial aired: one East of the Rocky Mountains for Hellmann’s mayo and one West of the Rockies for Best Foods mayo.

The two brands are identical, but have different names in different regions, so the Trainwreck star had to record parts of the ad twice to say the different names and swap her navy blue jacket, which had the mayonnaise’s names on her chest. .

She paired the blue suit with a yellow satin blouse and added some golden CGI wings for extra sparkle.

The video started with a man rummaging through his fridge and finding an assortment of unsavory leftovers.

‘Sad. This is sad, ”says Amy as she magically appears in a shower of golden sparks at the edge of the kitchen island.

“I am your Fairy Godmayo,” she explains to the shocked man. “And that’s a hot mess!”

He has some leftover meat, plus half an onion and an artichoke.

“What is an artichoke anyway?” he asks.

“Nobody knows,” she says disdainfully, pushing him aside to get a jar of Hellmann’s / Best Foods mayonnaise from the refrigerator door.

With a flick of her butter knife, the island is covered with an enviable spread, including chocolate cake, a spinach artichoke dip, nachos, deviled eggs and sandwich wraps, presumably things that can be made with mayo.

‘Oh yes, that’s normal’, the man jokes.

After her magical performance, the two take a break to eat all the food.

Amy ends the ad with a humorous stimulus after the man asks what else she can do.

“Absolutely nothing,” she says with a straight face. “Like nothing.”

The clip ended with a catchphrase on the screen: ‘Make taste. No waste. ‘

“It was amazing how much food is thrown away at our house, especially when you consider how many people have trouble putting food on their table,” said Amy.

‘I am proud to partner with Hellmann’s to raise awareness of this problem and help people with tangible ways to easily make changes at home. Simple steps, such as embracing imperfect foods and organizing your fridge or pantry, can help reduce waste and encourage creativity in the kitchen. ‘

The single-location ad was directed by Peter Farrelly, best known for directing comedies such as Dumb And Dumber and There Something About Mary with his brother Bobby Farrelly and for single-handedly directing the Oscar-winning Green Book film.
