Jimmy Woo X-Files Style Spinoff Show is pitched to amaze

The viral idea for an X-Files-style WandaVision spin-off starring Jimmy Woo (Randall Park) is already officially pitched to Marvel.

The viral idea for one WandaVision spin-off with Jimmy Woo in the style of X files is already being pitched for Marvel Studios. Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe finally kicked off a few weeks ago with the launch of WandaVision on Disney +. The show stars Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany as Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch and Vision respectively, but they’re not the only known MCU characters to make an appearance. Among the others returning is Randall Park as FBI agent Jimmy Woo, who was last seen Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Jimmy Woo’s performance in WandaVision episode 4 was reasonably well received by viewers. His quippy one-liners, care for Dr. Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings) and renewed skill in sleight of hand magic tricks resulted in audiences demanding more. This included social media’s call for Jimmy Woo to get his own spin-off show. Different ideas were thrown back and forth between fans, but the most popular viral suggestion came from actor / director Stephen Ford. He suggested a spin-off X filesvein where Jimmy Woo and his company are investigating other weird cases after the Westview anomaly. While many dismissed this pitch as nothing more than a great internet idea that wouldn’t happen, it seems Marvel Studios is listening.

The popularity of Stephen Ford’s original tweet suggesting a Jimmy Woo WandaVision spin-off resulted in going through the right channels to make his idea a reality. A few days after calling and sending emails, which overlapped with gaining even more support, Ford has confirmed that he will soon be officially pitching his idea to Marvel. Ford plans to spend the next few days writing the pitch and will present it to Marvel some time afterward.

Whatever happens as a result of Ford’s pitch, it’s clear there’s a lot of interest in a Jimmy Woo spin-off similar to the one he’s proposing. Randall Park has said he’s interested in tackling a Jimmy Woo spin-off. He told Screen Rant he would like to do one Agents of Atlas spin-off with Darcy. The support for more Jimmy Woo content extends beyond fans and the actors directly involved. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings star Simu Liu wants the spin-off show to take place too, and he’s already volunteered to get in.

Of course, Jimmy Woo’s MCU future will largely depend on how his story comes in WandaVision ends. But Ford’s Jimmy Woo spin-off idea certainly offers some nice possibilities. There were also rumors in the past that Marvel already had one Agents of Atlas Disney + series. If they haven’t decided on a direction or story for that show yet, then maybe Ford’s X files idea can be fused with the concept of Jimmy Woo who leads his own super team. Since Marvel Studios already has a handful of Disney + shows in the works, it may take a while for an official word to be announced about a Jimmy Woo spin-off. But hopefully it will only be a matter of time before it happens.
