In the latest update from 343 Industries, developers of Halo: The Master Chief Collection are teasing that there may be a new place to play the collection.
In November 2014, 343 Industries released the ultimate collection for fans of the Halo series that each Halo title released until Halo 5. This was more than a case of nostalgia, as it was an opportunity for new players to the acclaimed franchise to experience each game in its original form, or with graphics enhancements implemented for Xbox players. However, Halo: The Master Chief Collection might get an extra house soon.
The compendium of Halo games struggled early in their life cycle as PvP in the game just didn’t work as intended. When 343 Industries added more updates, more bugs followed. Bungie was working on his new IP, Destiny, so it was up to the Washington-based developer at the time to get the game on the right track. Several updates and a PC launch later, Halo: The Master Chief Collection is in a polished way, and could soon be playable in a new environment.
The most recent update on 343 Industries’ blog covered multiple news, including plans for Black History Month with a new nameplate. Further on under a discussion of the current ban ladder, 343 mentions that if all goes well it could share a new way of playing Halo: The Master Chief Collection, as well as a new place to enjoy the game.
Nothing else was shared in that space in regards to the great tease by the developer. Additional details on FOV sliders, new key connectors, and more ways to customize controls were also announced. All eyes, perhaps from a new console, were on a potential new place to play Halo. The good news for fans is that 343 Industries is good at providing updates to the community.
This can be viewed in a variety of ways, because the developers were so vague. Have a new way to play Halo: The Master Chief Collection is a debate in and of itself as it’s already on Xbox Game Pass, Steam, and in a physical copy in stores. Some are wondering if there is any chance of it coming to a new store such as the Epic Games Store. With Halo infinite approaching release, that may be best for businesses.
The Halo community should have new information in the coming weeks. Halo infinite is already receiving updates on its development cycle. While the community awaits confirmation of what 343 Industries’ huge hint could mean, players should pay attention to their weekly blog for more information.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection is available on PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S.
