Batman and Superman will reportedly meet in The Arrowverse

Later this month, the Arrowverse will expand with the premiere of Superman and Lois, with regular guest star Tyler Hoechlin in the lead role as the Man of Steel. It was a big deal when The CW got permission to use the hero in 2016, and the network’s DC franchise has grown and grown ever since. The 2019 “Crisis on Infinite Earths” even featured a version of Batman – Kevin Conroy’s corrupt Bruce Wayne from another Earth – but will there ever come a day when Superman and Bats can team up in the Arrowverse?

Well, we hear it’s definitely something the network is hoping for, as insider Daniel Richtman says The CW wants Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne to meet someday. Their goal is apparently to build their Justice League into a more comically-accurate line-up and they plan on having the two heroes eventually intersect.

Of course, the Arrowverse finally formed a version of the Justice League – though without being called that – at the end of “Crisis,” with the roster consisting of Superman, Flash, Supergirl, White Canary, Batwoman, Martian Manhunter, and Black Lightning. However, by the end of next season, the team will be three members behind. Kate Kane is already out and Kara Danvers and Jefferson Pierce will follow soon, so adding Batman to their ranks would be a great coup.

Fans wondered if The CW was about to introduce the Dark Knight when Warren Christie was cast as Bruce’s true face in Batwoman – Christie plays Hush, who has had surgery to look like the billionaire. Presumably, he would be the first choice to take the part, if they got Warner Bros. to finally get their hands on the Caped Crusader.

Superman and Lois debuts with a two-hour premiere on Tuesday, Feb. 23, and while it probably won’t happen this year, Batman may well be heading to the Arrowverse in the not so distant future.
