COVID vaccinations remain above 20,000

More than 20,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses were again given in Utah on Friday, which also reported 5 more coronavirus-related deaths, according to the Department of Health.

Vaccinations reported in the past day / total vaccinations • 21,204 / 404,085.

Number of Utahns that have received two doses • 99,160.

Cases reported in the past day • 1.211.

Deaths reported in the past day • 5.

The deaths reported Friday are • Three women died – one over the age of 85 in Salt Lake County; one over the age of 85 in Millard County, and one between 45 and 64 in Tooele County. Two men also died, both aged between 45 and 64 – one in Weber County and one in Uintah County.

Hospital admissions reported in the past day • 335. That is 14 less than Friday. Of those currently in hospital, 123 are in intensive care – six more than on Friday.

Tests reported in the past day • 8,264.

Percentage of positive tests • 14.04%. This is slightly lower than the seven-day average of 16.2%.

Totals so far • 353,700 cases; 1,733 dead; 13,828 hospital admissions; 2,070,190 people tested.
