New COVID-19 Symptom: ‘COVID Tongue’ is the latest problem

Researchers have revealed a possible new symptom of COVID-19 – “COVID tongue.”

What is happening?

A British researcher said recently that more cases have been reported of people with tongue discoloration, enlargement and other mouth problems.

  • The researcher – Tim Spector, a professor of genetic epidemiology at King’s College London – dubbed the experience “ COVID tongue. ”
  • “I see more and more COVID tongues and strange canker sores. If you have a strange symptom or even just a headache and fatigue, stay home! ” he said.

Spector said more than a third of COVID-19 patients – nearly 35% – have had non-classic symptoms in the first three days of infection.

  • He said COVID-19 toes, rashes, and other warning signs shouldn’t be ignored.
  • “It is a good reminder that there are so many different manifestations of this virus rather than just the classic one,” Spector told NBC News.

More unique COVID-19 numbers

In December, several experts discovered a rare consequence of the new coronavirus: your teeth are falling out, as well as worsened dental problems, according to The New York Times.

COVID-19 survivors have reported seeing tooth loss as a result of the virus, The New York Times reported.

  • “Gum disease is very prone to hyper-inflammatory reactions, and COVID long-haul vehicles certainly fall into that category,” Scherer told The New York Times.

“COVID toes” was another symptom reported in April that I wrote about for Deseret News. These were explained as a “presence of purple or blue lesions on a patient’s feet and toes,” said USA Today.
