The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 details have been revealed by Nintendo, but it appears that the details were accidentally shared ahead of schedule. Since Nintendo and Eiji Aonuma announced and unveiled the game at E3 2019, we haven’t seen anything of the sequel, nor heard about the game. According to a recent leak, the Switch and Switch Lite games may be coming out sooner than we think, and if so, we should start seeing and hearing more about the game soon. That said, right now they are still crickets, which makes this new information all the more remarkable.
The new details come from the way of a new and official Nintendo marketing pamphlet running wild. And according to the pamphlet, the underground location, Zonai Cave, that Link and Zelda are in the game’s revealing trailer is indeed located beneath Hyrule Castle, which fans theorized but had not been confirmed so far.
Finally, Link and Zelda return in the highly anticipated sequel to an unforgettable action adventure The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, with serial producer Eiji Aonuma promising a dark adventure this time, “the pamphlet reads.” Deep in the caves below Hyrule Castle, a new and powerful threat awakens. Can our brave heroes save the kingdom again? “
Unfortunately, this is where the details end. Furthermore, while the word of a “dark adventure” and “a new and powerful threat awakens” may be new to some, we actually already knew about all of this. That said, while the new details are sparse, it’s good to have confirmation that the location in the trailer was indeed below Hyrule Castle.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 is in development for the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite and possibly the rumored Super Switch. At the time of publication, there is no report on a release date or even a release date, but rumors and leaks suggest it will be released sometime this year, or at least that’s the plan.
