Britt Reid, the Kansas City linebackers coach, had an accident that seriously injured a child
Britt Reid, son of the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs, Andy Reid and the team’s outside linebackers coach, were involved in a multi-car accident Thursday night in which a 5-year-old boy sustained life-threatening injuries, according to a team statement and the police report.
According to the Kansas City, Missouri police incident report, a vehicle running out of gasoline crashed into a driveway off Interstate 435 Kansas City Thursday evening. After asking the next of kin for help, the driver brought a second car with him, which was also in the driveway.
According to the police report a third car, of which the television channel of Kansas City, KSHB, notes was headed by Britt Reid, approached and hit first left front of the disabled vehicle and then the rear of the second vehicle, where the 5-year-old boy was seated in the backseat along with a 4-year-old boy, who was also transferred ambulance to a local hospital, but not seriously injured.
The station reported that, according to a search warrant, Reid had admitted to the police that he was driving the third vehicle. The police report shows that the driver of the third car suffered minor injuries and was investigated for possible intoxication.
According to the KSHB search warrant, the Kansas City police officer said Reid’s eyes were red and the officer noticed “a mild odor of alcoholic beverages.” The order went on to say that Reid told the officer that he had had two or three drinks and that he was also taking the Adderall prescription.

None of the persons involved in the accident are named in the police report.
The driver of the disabled vehicle was in the car at the time of the first crash, but was not injured, according to the police report, and the driver of the second car and an adult passenger in the front seat were not injured either.
Britt Reid was scheduled to travel with the Chiefs on Saturday en route to Super Bowl LV against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Tampa, Florida.
