A new Instagram video posted this week claiming to be from a commercial Ford shoot shows a brand new 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor gracefully leaping through the air – and sick crazy air it is, bro. Better yet, the original poster from the 395Jeep video claims the Raptor went off this huge jump eight times.
Congratulations, dude who steered his bird of prey too hard and dropped all the airbags. If this video description is true, Ford has heard your craving for epic messages loud and clear.
395Jeep deleted his original copy of the video from Instagram sometime Thursday night, but not before other Raptor fans reposted it.
“I worked on this commercial of the new Raptor released today two weeks ago. This was one of eight jumps and Stock Raptor drove off,” said 395Jeep’s original caption.
Normally, you are not supposed to post behind-the-scenes footage of film before that project airs, so it is understandable that this video will soon disappear from Jeep395’s stream. Still, that definitely looks like a new F-150 Raptor, given how far the rear wheels are in the air. The 2021 F-150 Raptor went to a five-link coil rear suspension that allows for more travel than the previous Raptor’s leaf spring. The coils are also the longest in the Raptor’s class, at a whopping 24 inches.
It’s hard not to think of this as a direct recording on the Ram 1500 TRX after last month’s viral video of a TRX Launch Edition sent off a massive jump and bent on landing. After all, the Ram 1500 TRX is the F-150 Raptor’s closest competitor, and being able to steer the truck eight times over the same jump for a commercial would be Ford’s ultimate achievement.
But it’s also worth noting that comparing the two jumps is apples to oranges. This is a Raptor steered by professionals, no doubt coming from a jump carefully designed to survive and repeatable for multiple shots. The Ram 1500 TRX, on the other hand, was a quantum leap from a self-built jump made by a man who couldn’t even properly tighten the wheels and tires in the cargo box before sending it in. That was not well planned.
