The Twins announced on Thursday-evening that they have taken over righthanded Shaun Anderson from the Giants in exchange for outfielder LaMonte Wade Jr.
Anderson, 26, made his MLB debut with the Giants in 2019, playing in 46 games (16 starts) for them in the 2020 season. His career ERA is 5.17 over 111 1/3 innings, with a 1.8 strikeout-to-walk ratio. He was originally selected in the third round of the 2016 Draft by the University of Florida Red Sox. Boston traded him to San Francisco in the deal that sent Eduardo Núñez to the Red Sox in 2017.
Wade, 27, was the Twins’ ninth-round pick in the 2015 Draft of the University of Maryland, and also made his Major League-debut in 2019. He hit .211 / .336 / .347 in 113 at bats for the Twins via the 2020 campaign.
