The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) revealed in recent hours that specialists found traces of heroin in the car of Diego Francisco Alvarado Peña (30 years old), a police officer assigned to the Department of Significant Personalities Protection (PPI) and is currently being detained for the attack on the FMLN caravan on Sunday, January 31.
Alvarado Peña, who has been assigned to the security of Health Minister Francisco Alabí, is hospitalized for gunshot wounds. Until yesterday it was unknown how he had been injured.

Regarding the traces of drugs in the car, Raúl Melara, Attorney General of the Republic, yesterday referred as follows: “What if I want to tell you that a curious fact is that when carrying out the expertise of the blue vehicle, the positive tested for heroin ”.
The car in which the three defendants drove is a Hyundai Elantra, blue with license plate P 830 034, in the name of the police officer Alvarado Peña. After the attack, the car was stored in one of the health ministry’s parking lots a few blocks from the incident site.
The car was inspected in that parking lot on Monday 1 February. In addition to the drug tracks, they found a 9mm pistol and a shotgun. In the afternoon of that day, the car (already sealed) was removed from the site.

The videos released by the Prosecution on Tuesday afternoon, February 3, show the three attackers driving that blue car, intercepting the truck of FMLN militants, getting out and carrying out the attack. Only two returns to the car and flights.
The injuries caused two FMLN activists to die: Gloria Rogel and Juan de Dios Tejada.
In addition to Alvarado Peña, Roberto Carlos Coto de Paz (41 years old), a private security guard from the Ministry of Health, and Héctor de Jesús Castañeda (49 years old), a motorist from the same ministry, are accused of the attack. . The latter two were brought to court on the afternoon of February 3, where they will be charged with the murder of the FMLN activists.
