Chiefs in uniform mourn cop’s death from COVID

Public Security Secretary Alexis Torres and Police Commissioner Colonel Antonio López Figueroa lamented the death of Officer Juan Rosado López, 45, as a result of COVID-19.

Agent Rosado López joined the police station in 1996 and is currently with the Caguas Highway Patrol Division.

Today, COVID-19 took another colleague away from the Puerto Rico police station. We deeply regret the death of Officer Juan Rosado López, the seventh law enforcement officer to lose because of this virus. Our prayers for his eternal rest and our condolences to his family and friends. May he rest in peace, ”said the secretary.

For his part, the commissioner stated that “every time I lose one of my police officers, I lose a brother, a son, a friend who has given everything to serve his country, his neighbor and his family. That’s why we all lose. To the loved ones of Rosado López, we extend our solidarity hug and gratitude for borrowing a member of her family to proudly serve Puerto Rico. We ask God to strengthen them with serenity, peace, and with the assurance that he will be remembered in our hearts as an excellent human being and a great police officer. ‘

Currently, 137 members of the police station have been positively diagnosed for COVID-19 and 161 officers are kept in preventive isolation. All barracks, divisions and units continue to operate normally.
