The first review for Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury has arrived

Super Mario 3D World and Bowsers Fury

The very first review of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury has now been published by Japanese publication Famitsu. The verdict comes just over a week before the game’s official release.

Famitsu’s scoring system has four different reviewers who rate the game out of ten; in this case, the magazine’s reviewers chose scores of nine, nine, eight, and ten, resulting in an overall score of 36/40 (thank you, Ryokutya2089 / VGC).

As noted by VGC, Famitsu awarded the original Wii U version of Super Mario 3D World a score of 38/40, a slightly higher score than the publication gave to the new Switch game. The review reportedly calls Bowser’s Fury mode “a lot of fun,” while also praising the challenge and replayability of the new mode and the online functionality in the base game.

We’ll have our own review of the game a little closer to the game’s release, so stay tuned to read our thoughts. Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury will launch exclusively on Switch on February 12 – and you can pre-order it now.
