Carlito is on a three-week test with WWE, which started with the Royal Rumble, according to Wrestling Inc.
The former intercontinental champion returned to the Rumble last Sunday, his first appearance in the ring for WWE since 2010.
According to sources close to the situation, MVP had pushed for WWE to give Carlito a look as a wrestler or producer. Triple H eventually gave his approval for the test.
It is believed that Carlito will eventually sign with the company. PWInsider noted that there has been much internal praise for his work and the condition he has been in since his return.
Carlito’s setting is similar to last year’s MVP, who also returned at the Royal Rumble in 2020 and was later hired as producer. He is now a wrestler who helps informally as a producer.
Bad Bunny a luchar?
Rapper Bad Bunny played his single “Booker T” at the Royal Rumble on Sunday and then jumped on The Miz and John Morrison after Damian Priest knocked them out at the Rumble.
He returned on RAW and appeared on MizTV, asking Priest to attack Miz and Morrison. Priest then defeated The Miz with help from Bunny.
Now PWInsider is reporting that WWE plans to have Bad Bunny back for more gigs.
The current plan is for Bunny to participate in WrestleMania 37. There is even a scenario for Bunny to possibly fight in a match on the show, but that has not been confirmed.
