Manchester Memorial Hospital and Rockville General Hospital are canceling all COVID-19 vaccination appointments scheduled for February 4, 2021 in VAMS due to a shortage of supply.
According to Eastern Connecticut Health Network’s announcement, this is a temporary hiatus from their vaccination clinic.
Those who received their first dose of the vaccine at both locations and had a pre-scheduled second dose appointment should still arrive for that appointment.
Those who had scheduled an appointment via VAMS before or after February 4, 2021, can try to reschedule at an alternative location via the website.
ECHN said those requiring a second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna can be scheduled up to six weeks after the first dose without restarting the series.
Other health systems, including UConn Health and Waterbury Hospital, have also had to cancel appointments due to a vaccine shortage.
“We apologize to those affected by this cancellation and would like to assure you that we are committed to receiving additional doses of the COVID-19 vaccine in a timely manner. Please understand that this is a temporary delay and we ask for your patience with the trial because the demand to get the vaccine is high, ”the health system said.
