After Evan Rachel Wood publicly named Marilyn Manson in domestic violence and rape allegations she has been talking about for years, Hollywood talent agency CAA has confirmed that Variety that it dropped him. Manson was represented at CAA for many years; the agency also represents Wood.
Early Monday morning Wood posted on Instagram, “My abuser name is Brian Warner, aka Marilyn Manson. He started nursing me when I was a teenager and horribly abused me for years. I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission. I have finished living in fear of retaliation, slander, or blackmail. I’m here to expose this dangerous man and name the many industries that made him possible, before ruining any more lives. I stand behind the many victims who will no longer be silent. “
On Monday night, Manson denied the allegations, including on Instagram, writing, “Obviously, my art and my life have long been magnets for controversy, but these recent claims about me are terrible distortions of reality,” he wrote. “My intimate relationships have always been completely consistent with like-minded partners. No matter how – and why – others choose now to misrepresent the past, that’s the truth. “
But the consequences for Manson were quick. His record label Loma Vista Recordings, which was behind his three most recent albums, dropped him Monday afternoon, hours after Woods Instagram post. In addition, an AMC Networks spokesperson confirmed that Variety that an episode of Shudder’s anthology series “Creepshow” with Manson has been canceled. And Starz, which airs “ American Gods, ” on which Manson has a recurring role in the current third season, is reworking an upcoming episode of the show to remove him from it.
And now CAA has dropped it. Manson’s manager did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
