Major League Baseball has announced through its communications department that the figure of Tatis Jr. has been selected as the cover of the video game that will be released for both the PlayStation 5 and X Box consoles.
At the age of 22, Tatis Jr. the youngest player ever to be selected for the cover of the video game and the first San Diego Padres player to receive such recognition from Sony Interactive Entertainment.
In the 2020 edition of MLB The Show, the cover was for Chicago Cubs player Javier Báez and in 2019, the chosen one was the Philadelphia Phillies slugger for Bryce Harper.
Tatis Jr.’s fast and aggressive play, in addition to his attractive profile, has made him one of the most outstanding players in the industry in just two Major League seasons.
Last season, there was action in 59 of 60 regular season games played with an average of .277, with 17 homers, 45 RBI’s, 50 runs scored and 11 stolen bases, in addition to a WAR of 2.8, one of the main plays of the Padres’ qualifier for the postseason, where they lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the Championship Series.
