DENVER – While The Grizzly Rose’s voicemail guarantees that all public health safety guidelines will be followed in the ballroom and bar, hundreds of people are in the company on Saturdays.
Open only on Fridays and Saturdays, the Grizzly Rose, which opened in 1989, is a local Denver favorite.
Jenny Orin said it is a beloved place in the community, but she was shocked to see people sitting in the bar on social media Saturday night.
Orin’s sister saw videos from Saturday night on Snapchat and showed it to her.
“It seems they might have been good at social distancing at first. They stayed six feet apart, some people were wearing masks, but the video I saw last night was something completely different. It was a complete violation of the audience. health, ”said Orin.
Hundreds of people were packed inside on Saturday evening. Masks were a rarity, and social distancing was practically non-existent.
‘It’s just so surprising to see them ignore their community that way. I feel ignored, ”Orin said.
She said the move to allow crowds that size feels like “stepping back in our timeline to get back to normal.”
In the past year, other restaurants and music venues have faced legal battles for health violations.
So far, we have not heard from local or state health departments about this massive gathering. The Grizzly Rose also chose not to comment.
“I don’t know how I feel about fines and violations, but what I saw last night shouldn’t be happening and I want it to stop,” Orin said.
