Evan Rachel Wood claims ex-fiancé Marilyn Manson ‘abused me horribly for years’

Actress Evan Rachel Wood released a statement claiming that ex-fiancé Marilyn Manson “ horribly assaulted her for years ” while four other women made allegations about the shock rocker.

Evan, 33, and singer Manson, real name Brian Warner, 52, became engaged in January 2010 after a three-year romance, but called off their engagement in August 2010.

They met when she was 18 and he was 18 years her senior.

Evan claimed in her statement released on Instagram on Monday: ‘My abuser name is Brian Warner, also known in the world as Marilyn Manson.

He started nursing me when I was a teenager and abused me horribly for years.

Evan continued, “I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission. I have finished living in fear of retaliation, slander, or blackmail.

“I’m here to expose this dangerous man and name the many industries that made him possible, before ruining any more lives.

She concluded, “I support the many victims who will no longer be silent.”

‘I continue to suffer from PTSD and struggle with depression. I kept in touch with a lot of people who went through their own trauma under his control. As we all struggled, like survivors, to get on with our lives, I kept hearing stories that were disturbingly similar to our own experiences. It became clear that he was abusive; he keeps bringing in so many and I can’t stand by and let this happen to others. Brian Warner must be held accountable. ‘

SARAH MCNEILLY

‘I’ve been afraid to put myself in the spotlight so as not to get back into his reticle. As a result of the way he treated me, I suffer from psychological problems and PTSD that have affected my personal and professional relationships, self-esteem and personal goals. I believe he manages to ruin people’s lives. I am behind everything that has and everything will come forward. I want Brian to be held accountable for his evil ‘

ASHLEY LINDSAY MORGAN

I have night terrors, PTSD, anxiety, and mostly paralyzing OCD. I’m constantly trying to wash to get him out or off me. … I’m coming forward, so he will finally stop. ‘

GABRIELLA

‘It took me five years to speak out and say I was in an abusive relationship. I have been diagnosed with PTSD and still have nightmares. I have blocked a lot of memories, but the feelings remain and manifest in different ways. The reason I’m finally sharing this traumatic experience is for my healing and because I’m done with silence. I do not believe it is fair that someone should not be held responsible for their heinous acts. I am not a victim. I am a survivor. ‘

According to Vanity Fair, at least four other women have made their own allegations against Manson.

They detailed “poignant experiences that they claim include sexual assault, psychological abuse, and / or various forms of coercion, violence, and intimidation.”

In 2009 Manson told Spin, “The song, I Want to Kill You Like They Do in The Movies is about my fantasies.”

And in response to a question about his relationship with ex, Evan, Manson said, “Every day I have fantasies about smashing her skull with a sledgehammer.”

He gave a shocking account of their relationship in Christmas 2008, saying, “Every time I called her that day – I called 158 times – I took a razor and cut myself on the face or my hands.

‘I wanted to show her the pain she caused me. It was like, “I want you to see physically what you’ve done.” ‘

Manson’s representatives have “ categorically denied ” similar allegations in the past.

A Manson representative previously released a statement to NME saying, “ I understand that Evan Rachel Wood was dating multiple people around the time she was dating Manson.

‘Basic internet research will give you a lot of other names that have not been discussed in any of our discussions.

Your next few points relate to comments Manson made in Spin magazine in 2009. Your confusion over the timeline of these is extremely concerning.

The comments in Spin where Manson had the fantasy to use a sledgehammer on Evan and cut himself 158 times was clearly a theatrical rock star interview promoting a new record, and not a factual account.

“The fact that Evan and Manson were engaged six months after this interview would indicate that no one took this story literally.”

They continued, “There are also numerous articles over several years where Evan Rachel Wood speaks very positively about her relationship with Manson.

In The Edit of NetAPorters.com, she said, “ I wouldn’t trade any of them [our relationship], Wood told the mag. “I appreciate everything he taught me. I just don’t think we were the right choice for each other. ‘

Patricia Arquette previously tweeted: ‘Marilyn Manson cut herself 158x when he called Evan Rachel Wood after the breakup isn’t it [love], it is abuse. ‘

In 2018, Evan testified before Congress, giving a harrowing report of sexual and physical abuse with a partner she did not name.

She gave testimony to push all 50 states to pass the Sexual Assault Survivors Bill of Rights Act.

Evan said, “I was not okay, and I am not okay.”

She discussed: “Sick rituals where I bond with hands and feet to be mentally and physically tortured until my abuser felt I had proven my love for them.

‘Right now, as I was tied up and beaten and told unspeakable things, I really felt like I could die.

Not only because my abuser said to me, ‘I could kill you now,’ but because at the time I felt like I was leaving my body and was too scared to run. He would find me. ‘

She also said, “ My experience with domestic violence was this: toxic mental, physical and sexual abuse that started slowly but escalated over time, including threats to my life, severe gaslighting and brainwashing, waking up to the man who claimed love me rape that he thought was my unconscious body. ‘

MailOnline has contacted representatives for both Evan Rachel Wood and Brian Warner for comment.

Manson married Lindsay Elizabeth Warner in February 2020. From 2005-2007 he was married to burlesque recording artist Dita Von Teese.

In 1999, he became engaged to Charmed actress Rose McGowan, 47, but she ended the engagement in 2001, blaming “ lifestyle differences. ”
