Saturday Night Live completely avoided parodying Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in the first episode since the couple were sworn in.
Hosted by John Krasinki, the first SNL of 2021 failed to list the president or vice president in the skits.
Instead, there were special ‘appearances’ from Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Mark Zuckerberg and Tom Brady.
The move was quashed online by some viewers who described the show as a ‘snoozefest’ that is ‘too scared to be canceled’.
Others noted that Donald Trump had been the butt of their jokes for the past four years.

Alec Baldwin’s Donald Trump was also conspicuously absent from the show’s opening.
On Twitter, one viewer commented, “ Did 45 go on a honeymoon? I can not remember. ‘
Another said: ‘Why is SNL NOT sketching about Biden? Is Biden off-limits? ‘
“The show that has parodied every president since its inception, afraid of touching Biden,” said a Twitter user.
Jim Carrey revealed in December that he had reached the end of his ‘term’ as a former vice president.
“ Although my term would only last six weeks, I was thrilled to be chosen as your SNL president … supreme duty of comedy, ” the actor tweeted.
He would have been replaced by Alex Moffat.
But he didn’t appear on Saturday night’s show as president.

Woody Harrelson was also a guest as the next president several times early on in the 2019 presidential campaign.
Jason Sudeikis, who was SNL’s regular Biden player when he was a cast member, returned to play him after Harrelson’s short stint.
Comedian John Mulaney, who formerly wrote for SNL, also returned to play Biden before Carrey took over.
Former SNL cast member Maya Rudolph has appeared as Harris in previous shows.
Rather than focusing on the new administration, the opening quote sat Kate McKinnon with Rep. Greene (GA-R) – played by Cecily Strong – as she tried to determine ‘What Still Works?’ in 2021.
McKinnon’s next guest was Pete Davidson as Derrick ‘Boner’ Evans, GameStop’s new majority shareholder.
Mark Zuckerberg from Facebook, played by Alef Moffat, and Jack Dorsey from Twitter, played by Mikey Day, were the next guests.
McKinnon then went on to introduce the vaccine, bringing Kenan Thompson up as OJ Simpson – with an ankle monitor. The controversial footballer recently made headlines after receiving the vaccine.
Tom Brady, played by Krasinki, was the last guest appearance.
