Mexico City- Looks are deceiving …
While the Kansas City Chiefs go to Super Sunday with the best record in wins and losses (15-2) against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (11-5), the latter’s performance was better on offense and defense.
On February 7, Tampa Bay will have the honor of being the first team to reach the Final to host, and will compete against the current champions led by Patrick Mahomes.
But the numbers don’t lie, and for something, both franchises join the Vince Lombardi trophy dispute with equal powers.
Both the Bucks and Chiefs finished in the Top 10 for offense and defense during the regular season.
On offense, the Tampa Bay team was third, while the Chiefs took sixth place out of 32 teams.
The Bucs scored 492 points, or an average of 30.75 per game, while Mahomes and Company scored 473 points (29.5 per game).
That category was led by the Green Bay Packers with 509 points (31.8 points per game).
Defensive, respectable
At the back, the two teams showed consistency during the first 16 weeks, the Buccaneers were slightly better.
To give us an idea of its effectiveness, the best defense in the league was led by the Los Angeles Rams, who gave up 296 points, an average of 18.5 points per game.
The Buccaneers were the eighth best defense with 355 points, 22.1 per game, while the Chiefs were 10th with 362 points, 22.6 points.
