The Angels. Anne Hathaway Y Jared Leto, two of Hollywood’s best-known faces, have signed up with Apple to star in a series about the financial scandals surrounding the WeWork coworking office company.
The tech company confirmed this Friday that its brand new television catalog will feature this new fiction entitled “WeCrashed,” based on real-life events and featuring two Oscar-winning stars who haven’t worked regularly for the small screen for decades.
“WeCrashed describes the ambitious rise and inevitable demise of WeWork, one of the world’s most valuable startups, and the narcissists who made it possible,” the company described the plot of the series, which will premiere on the Apple TV + platform.
The original company, WeWork, was born in the United States in 2010 during the boom in shared workspaces and quickly expanded its offices in Europe, Latin America and Asia.
The founders created huge expectations that attracted countless investors, who valued the company at more than $ 50,000 million, but mismanagement and a host of dubious practices on the part of the entrepreneurs led them to declare millions of losses in 2019 and sell the brand.
Currently WeWork is still active in numerous cities, but it has become a paradigm of the exaggerated forecasts often associated with start-ups in the United States.
Leto, who won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for “Dallas Buyers Club” (2013) and also stood out in such films as “Suicide Squad” (2016) and “Blade Runner 2049” (2017), will star in this case Adam Neumann, founder of the company accused of pyramid scams.
Hathaway has meanwhile won the Oscar for “Les Misérables” (2012) and here he plays Neuman’s wife, Rebekah, co-founder of the project.
