“You know, I think your point about that photo is important. So it goes to show that the former president desperately wants to keep looking like he’s leading the party and the problem is until we push back and say, you know, this isn’t Trump’s first party, this is a country’s first party – in some cases where you support Donald Trump in that effort, but in my case I believe that’s a whole new movement, ”Kinzinger said.

Todd noted that Kinzinger was originally intended to appear on the show, along with other House Republicans who voted to impeach Trump, but only appeared.

Kinzinger acknowledged last week that his vote to impeach Trump might prove “terminal” to his career. The congressman likely faces primary challenges because of his decision, but he has backed his vote so far.
