Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2 will mess up players’ expectations, producer says

The second part of the Final Fantasy VII remake will, according to the producer, shake off the expectations of the players.

At CEDEC + Kyushu Online 2020, producer Yoshinori Kitase commented on the second part of the remake currently in development, saying the team wants to develop a game that will not only meet the expectations of the fans, but also leads the way. This is something that has already been done in the first part of the remake but the wording used by Kitase as reported by the translator @Ataikimochi, seems to refer to something much bigger.

During the conversation, Final Fantasy VII Remake co-director Naoki Hamaguchi also commented on the development team, saying that the new staff who joined since the release of the first part of the remake last year wanted to work specifically on the second part as they played the remake. . .
