4-year-old finds dinosaur footprint while walking with father

A 220 million year old dinosaur footprint was found by a 4-year-old on a beach in Wales.

Lily Wilder found the well-preserved footprint in Bendricks Bay earlier this month, and scientists say it could help them understand how dinosaurs walked. Curator of Paleontology at the National Museum of Wales, Cindy Howells, told the BBC that the print, measuring nearly four inches long, is “the best specimen ever found on this beach”.

According to the report, Wilder found the print while walking on the beach with her father, Richard Wilder.

Lily saw it as they walked by and said, “Daddy look,” said her mom Sally Wilder. “When Richard came home and showed me the picture, I thought it looked fantastic.”

Scientists said they couldn’t say what type of dinosaur left the footprint preserved in the mud.
