Former Dominican Republic president Danilo Medina is said to have said the stage is set for the return of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) in the next election.
“These are the conditions for return,” he reportedly said in a leaked audio from the ex-president.
Also in this recording, Medina predicted that the Dominican population will experience “wear and tear” in relation to the government led by Luis Abinader.
For this reason, in Danilo’s opinion and quoting PLD founder Juan Bosch, citizens will go back to their previous experiences, referring to their government efforts between 2012 and 2020, seeing these governments in a more positive way than the current one. .
“When people see they were wrong, they will compare to what they lost. And in that comparison there is no other decision, and I am convinced that it will not come to us ”, the former president hears in the audio.
