Remember how PlatinumGames teased four major announcements last year? They were ultimately for Platinum Games Tokyo, Project GG, The Wonderful 101: Remastered, and an April Fools’ joke, which didn’t go down very well at the time.
It also has a special “bonus phase” announcement that it has yet to do. In a new interview with VGC, Platinum’s Hideki Kamiya told fans to expect something “smaller in scale” compared to the previous announcements, but hopes they still “get a kick out” of it.
“We want to reveal it at the right time, but what we can say at this point is that this was always meant to be the ‘Platinum Four’ so I think expectations should be for something extra. That said, this is something we’ve been on for a while. “
The plan was to release this announcement earlier, but the pandemic pushed it back.
“We wanted to release this a little earlier, but then the coronavirus happened, which I know is a common excuse, but we hope that when we can talk about it, it will put a smile on our fans’ faces. like ‘ah, we love those platinum guys!’ ”
