The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services will provide an update on the state’s COVID-19 vaccine supply Tuesday.
A specific time for the announcement has not been released.
The update will come as eligible groups who have not received their frustrations on the first dose and as clinics are struggling to meet requirements.

On Monday, the Orange County health department said the clinic has run out of first doses, and it’s not clear when they’ll get more from the state. Orange County sent a message saying it could take weeks or even months for everyone in phases 1 and 2 to be vaccinated until the supply is significantly increased.

In Cumberland County and Lee County, clinics are primarily open to those receiving their second dose of the vaccine.
Other counties, including Wake, have received fewer vaccines than they expected this week, slowing their vaccination process by appointment.
In Durham, district leaders are preparing to add a new mass vaccination site to the distribution process that would have the capacity to vaccinate about 45,000 people per week.
Mass vaccination sites have already been set up in other parts of the state, including Charlotte and Greenville.
