A new trailer featuring Guilty Gear Strive’s upcoming game modes has hit the web as Arc System Works continues to rouse the community for a new chapter of Guilty Gear action.
Arcade, Story, Training, Versus and other modes are detailed, but we were especially pleased to see improvements made to the previously tumultuous online lobby system.
Developers emphasize the different ways players can discover Strive, depending on their personal preferences. Those hoping to hone their skills and immediately prepare for competitive play can jump into Training or Tutorial mode, which instantly puts users in situations they find themselves in during real matches.
While there was some confusion midway through last year during Strive’s online lobby beta testing, it appears that the ArcSys team has been working to take things to the next level and make the processes more digestible. In Training Mode, players can wait to interact with an opponent, and will be matched with enemies with the appropriate skill level.
ArcSys has an interesting approach to story mode, as it appears to be a watch-only experience. While traditional fighting games of this type almost always take breaks in storytelling to allow users to play rounds every now and then (often with special provisions or handicaps), it appears that this type of action is limited to Arcade Mode.
We actually have a little more info on these modes thanks to the textual explanation that appeared on the Guilty Gear Strive website about two weeks ago, so be sure to check it out for more details after watching this most recent trailer.
